Our Story

Flirty Foods was born from a passion for cooking that started in the most unlikely place: a career in IT. Chef Ruben spent years working in tech, but it was always the kitchen — not the server room — where creativity truly came alive.

One Valentine's Day, a last-minute home-cooked dinner turned into a revelation. The sizzle of a perfectly seared steak, the aroma of a wine reduction, the satisfaction of creating something beautiful with your own hands — that night, a chef was born.

Since then, our kitchen has explored cuisines from around the world: Puerto Rican classics passed down through generations, Italian pastas learned from friends in Rome, smoky Mexican moles, fragrant Filipino adobos, and everything in between.

Meet Chef Ruben

Chef Ruben Ocasio is a self-taught cook based in the United States. With roots in Puerto Rico and a deep love for global cuisines, he brings a unique perspective to every recipe. He's the founder of The Ocasio Group, LLC and the creative force behind Flirty Foods.

When he's not in the kitchen, he's exploring new restaurants, traveling in search of authentic flavors, or teaching others that anyone can cook — and cook well.
